Writing ‘Breathe’ was extremely cathartic for me. I was going through a really dark period at the time, constantly faced with intense episodes of anxiety. I often continue to struggle with anxiety but thankfully it has become more manageable over the years. If there’s one thing I learned about mental illness, it’s acknowledging it for what it is and asking yourself questions in hopes of a better understanding.
